Movies I Love || The Man Who Fell to Earth (1976)

“In Breughel’s Icarus, for instance: how everything turns away
Quite leisurely from the disaster; the ploughman may
Have heard the splash, the forsaken cry,
But for him it was not an important failure; the sun shone
As it had to on the white legs disappearing into the green
Water; and the expensive delicate ship that must have seen
Something amazing, a boy falling out of the sky,
had somewhere to get to and sailed calmly on.”

Our screenplay is now available as a free download.

This is not a “shooting script” conformed to the final picture, it’s actually the final draft of the script we went into production with, and differs from the final film in many respects, which are hopefully more interesting…

Awwwwweeeessssooommmee!! I love reading screenplays!

Dear White People (movie trailer)

DEAR WHITE PEOPLE
A satire about being a Black face in a white place. DEAR WHITE PEOPLE follows the stories of four black students at an Ivy League college where a riot breaks out over a popular “African American” themed party thrown by white students. With tongue planted firmly in cheek, the film will explore racial identity in “post-racial” America while weaving a universal story of forging one’s unique path in the world.

Remember when Black movies didn’t necessarily star a dude in a fat suit and a wig? Or have major plot twists timed to Gospel numbers for no apparent reason? No? Damn…

Well believe it or not there was a time when “Black Art-House” was a thing. When movies like Do The Right Thing, Hollywood Shuffle, and Boyz N The Hood were breaking box office records as well as making us laugh, cry, and think in ways movies hadn’t before.

The humble producers of DEAR WHITE PEOPLE, a satire about being a black face in a white place, long to bring those days back. But we can’t do it without you!

We pieced together what resources we had to make this trailer in order to entice investors for our planned million dollar feature. Armed with this trailer and your support we plan to make this film a reality. Click here to help bring this film to theaters: http://bit.ly/DWPYoTu

I want to see this.

Wow. That’s a damned good trailer. I want to see this movie. I want to see this movie in a theater. They haven’t made a movie like this in a long, long, long, long, long time.

To put things in perspective and make you feel old, School Daze came out 24 years ago.

Help this movie exist, we need it.

Comic Movies

I’m glad the Avengers are doing well.

I enjoyed it as a film. I know it has its flaws, but I’ve known worse. I had fun. I laughed. I appreciated the progress of friendship and teamwork that was developing. I can’t wait to see how far it will go in future films. I’m a huge sucker for friendship stuff.

I know there will be some backlash… especially from people who don’t care for mainstream comics or… comic movies in general, but so what?

That’s okay. We all have are own tastes. Such things are what keeps the movie and art world from becoming stagnant.

Some people will hate this film. No matter. I still like it.

I’m glad I’m around when super hero movies can be created. I think that’s pretty cool.

Just my thoughts.
